Ok,

Bo or Juppy to get to Goodwood next friday?

The Selecta is more reliable and has a better chance of making it there but if the weathers good I can peel the roof of Juppy.... Mmmm. Decisions, Decisions!

On the other hand, Alan want's to take the Mx5 (woose!) and I'm having to give him a stern look

Oh, and is anyone else going?

Jim

Suppose... 'Festival of Speed' and 'panda forum' don't really go together!

Worthing or Bognor would be the nearest big towns. It's about half way along the coast between Brighton and Portsmouth. It's just I'm off that week and the terrible twins have been behaving quite well the last few days and I'd like to go somethere fun and quite far away (but cheap as chips).....

for those interested, Goodwood

personally i would go in the (not bo) selecta.

also where is goodwood, as i might try going.

Would it help if I called him Bo2 (god, sounds like a mobile phone network!)? :D

Or BoII?

Oh and you need to get tickets in advance for goodwood as there's none available on the gate.

Jim

No, Mad would be Alan taking Bo(2) and Me taking Juppy and BOTH of us expecting to get there! :D (that would have Britannia Rescue at DefCon 4)
I've booked Goodwood tickets and where we're going to 'stay' but I've not booked the ferry tickets yet as I can't decide on who's going :D
....and I think we're doing a Tent in Honeybridge Park nearby. Well I did say it had to be 'Cheap' !!

It will be interesting no matter what happens, I'll keep you's posted....

Changed the coolant on Bo(2) today so that puts him slightly ahead in the 'jobs to do before you can drive long distances' list.....

On a differnt note I changed from whatever sludge was in the rad to that new 5 year stuff (after a good rinse out) and he's running much cooler and even when it heats up (above 90c) the fans not on as much... Normal? or have I just ballsed something up? He's got the 1108 engine and it always seemed to have the cooling fan on so much more than juppy's 999.

I would guess it's now cooling as intended.

You have either dislodged sludge which was obstructing the coolant flow ( head, radiator internals... etc), or the bleeding has filled the radiator to the top.

Make sure the heater is bled too.

The fan on my recently departed CLX used to run a lot when queued in traffic, but after the head and gasket change (which relealed partially blocked waterways in the old head) the fan would cycle more quickly - on for just 10 to 20 seconds then off for anything up to a minute, depending on how hot the day was.

Ta John.

I'll just keep some spare coolant in the car for the next few day incase theres still an airlock I've missed (got the bleedscrew at the heater).

I'll take it on a bit of a mini adventure today to the South (a couple of hundred miles) and see how it gets on.

Right, just checked Country File and the weathers to be good from Wednseday when we leave so I shouldn't need to fix the wipers (hehe). So I'm going out to check Juppy over (oil, water, tyres etc)

It's 1006 miles (via the AA but as we're going down the M6 and back via Nottingham and the M1 it will be well over the 1000....) in a 19 year old car that's only famous (infamous?) for breaking down and costing a fortune to put right..... I've only done 4000 miles since we got it 2 years ago so a 1000 in four days should be interesting.

As it's sunday we've considered praying but if anyone has any better suggestions I'll be all ears!
