The continuation of my Pandamonium thread...
https://www.fiatforum.com/newbie-central/297506-pandamonium.html
...I've separated my two Pandas so you can have twice as much to read.
I've paid £77 (is that the going rate for twenty pieces of silver these days) to rent my log book for six months. There's nothing like the feeling of taking a car that you have worked a great deal with back on the road.
That feeling lasted sixty yards.
This looks familiar. So familiar in fact after I emptied a can of petrol in the tank (simplest solution first) it took a mater of seconds to swap carb's over...
...the car ran perfectly for a few seconds and cut out again. Checked the fuel lines and filter; all okay check for a spark. Dead.
Take the distributor off, apart, cleaned out (thinking condensation on the points where she's been stood a while), rebuilt, replaced, retimed, turn the key and the car starts for a few seconds and cuts out again. Hmmmmm....
Put a multimeter across the six month 900 mile old coil. 12.4V on both sides?
I'd forgotten the first rule...
When an old car breaks down check the parts that have "Lucas" written on them first
The coil from the 750 in place...
...and she's running perfectly again.
Is that gearbox oil on my drive? Grrrrrr!!!!
