Well I can't wait any longer to introduce this one. :)

Project Bucket is the full restoration of a Panda 4x4, so named by it's owner Julie because it is a bit of a heap. Project Bucket will not be a 'back to original' restoration as Julie has specified a whole list of upgrades and custom touches to suit her needs, smart but functional probably best describes it.

Although Bucket is a bit of a heap at the moment Julie must love him to want to go to the expence of having all this work done. Not only that but when Julie first got in touch with me she was also the owner of the very nice Sisley I now have, choosing to trade it in and have all the care and attention lavished on Bucket instead. The Sisley was too nice and original to mess with and Julie wanted to put her own stamp on a Panda she plans to use and keep for a very long time.

Bucket arrived at the workshop yesterday, so work can commence in the near future, just a few jobs to clear out of the way first. I will post some pics soon so that you can all see what an uphill battle I'm going to be facing ;).

Now although Julie is not registered on the forum she will still be looking in to read of any progress, so I would ask you all to be nice and polite :p, and if you're really good she may even register and post the odd comment herself one day.

Hi Julie, welcome to your thread.

Well done Jon, you even got the colour right. :ROFLMAO:

Is this the one you were talking about who is having the whole car dipped and resprayed and such
confused.gif
Yes it is. Julie had heard of galvanising and was interested in having a galvanised Bucket :p. I knew of this company http://www.surfaceprocessing.co.uk/ so suggested we use them and thier process to ensure bucket stays around for a very long time.

While we're on the subject, there will be a colour change. Currently the colour is the same light met. blue as my 4x4 but Julie has always wanted a black one so this is the colour of choice. :)

Vern

As you know I have a 4x4 Panda and I have a couple of questions for you.

1) What is the approximate cost of you revitalising a bucket?

2) When can you do mine?

Dave

hi everyone i am the proud owner of the bucket......the picture of the rusty bucket just about sums up the project vernon is taking on for me.

i visit this site quite often so don't be too rude about my car ( or me) once vernon has posted some pictures of bucket's current state.

for anyone who wants to know why it is called bucket it is because i bought the car on e bay (apologies to any of you who might also have been bidding for it) and when it arrived my initial reaction was oh ---- it (just think of what rhymes with bucket) . anyway i had the car checked out by a panda fan and he reckoned that it was basically sound and was worth saving.

well thats it for now , i will let vernon do all the clever technical posts and i will just add the odd daft comment here or there.

Welcome aboard(y) Love the username, you sound like a superhero! Looking forward to seeing this one progress, Vernon always turns out a mean Panda and it doesn't sound like this one's getting any half measures.
Roll on the 'before' pics then.

thanks for that , i know this is mainly a man site, but super heroinne is more accurate. i saw the white panda vernon did so i am sure that bucket will be transformed just as well. i think the name will probably have to stay though.

This is very interesting, but I think we do need to see photos of this major resto job before it starts. Love the name (you and the car) and think you must be a serious petrolhead to embark on this project. :slayer:

Didn't think superhero was gender specific, sorry:eek: Maybe my age but when I saw your name my brain just automatically read it to the 'wonder woman' tune. Not entirely a man only site, there's goodgirl156 doing a mk1 resto(y)...oh no hang on...;)

Hi Julie, glad to see you made it and they are treating you well (y).

Seems that not only was I wrong about you not being registered on here but I had posted on your first Newbie thread! From that I can see that you'd met some of us back in September. :)

Pictures will be forthcoming soon, once I've shaken this flu/chest infection thing. :(
