I'm Valter, 39 years old from Turin, Italy.
I've just discovered this forum, and I'll soon start reading all the posts concerning the Fiat Panda, which is the car that I own.
I have a Panda 4x4 Trekking built in 2000, and with some limited modifications I went two times (up to now) in Africa.
The first time was in August 2003, about twenty days in south Morocco, and the second time was in Tunisia (December 2003), for just a week. I had some off-road there, and I was quite satisfied with the little car.
You can see the photos of Morocco and Tunisia on my website (http://vq65.altervista.org). There is also a complete report of the trip in Morocco, but unfortunately it is available only in italian.
If you have any question about the car please feel free to ask...

It's amazing how it went from 'Going on holiday with my selecta' to 'Full on rally raid in a fiat prepaired panda'
Thou if some one had of suggested a weekend in skegness it could of all ended up very different

When are you going to Africa then?
Rufus is fine. Gonna sort out tyres (wet weather, spins in 2nd with enough of a prod on the move!) and put the exhaust heat shield on properly tomorrow as I have a day off at last. The people at work love him, but were surprised he had a boys name. Someone suggested an alternative, "Lolita", hehe.
Gonna get my piece of roof as well, I can't be doing with having the window open all the time, the mornings are getting colder!
Monday is car TLC day I guess. Not washed him for three weeks, so there's another thing that needs doing. Shall polish him up too.

Friday the 9th and it's non stop to France for Saturday night and then Spain on Sunday night.... ( yeah, it's a lot to ask of a wee panda but I'm confident! ) Morocco Monday morning, Casablanca Monday night then to Essaouria where Hendrix hung out with Frank Zappa getting off there heads and where I intend to do the same
After that, god know!
