Why were you letting stuff overtake you though? Was it just to let the camera car catch up maybe?

Generally speaking pink Panda's are best off flat out in lane 3 when it's busy - if people want to mock at the colour they have to at least give you credit for commitment (y)

If anyone can work out what .75% of £549.99 is that's heading on its way to Pinky's resto fund courtesy of my insurance company paying out to replace a bit of soggy tech via PC worlds website and the easy fundraising scheme :)

£4.12 :(

A veritable windfall!

Better than something pointy doing something unpleasant I suppose.

Don't spend it all at once

Edit:

Cheapskate? is £149.99 or (inset figure here) than it should have been as said soggy item was discontinued and replacement is an upgrade :p

(£1.12)?!

Well Pinky is now back at the Bucks Panda Sanctuary, safe & almost sound....

He roared back from Vernon's and survived a gridlocked M25 too. Sadly we now need to cure the roaring as I've broken the exhaust system  It sounds really good though, like a small jet taking off, and banging & popping on the overrun (y)

Donations please!!!! :worship:

It really wasn't anything I did - within 20mins of my careful ( ) driving it had gone.

I am starting to see a pattern though. 2012 Thoresby Hall - mk1 45 (Jasper) blows his exhaust. 2012 NEC Panda Super blows his exhaust (back box pulled off for noisy trip back down the M40). 2013 Panday 5 Howie the Sisley blows his exhaust going up to Yorkshire. 3 weeks later I look at Pinky and he blows his exhaust............ (The Strada blew its back box this year too) Free exhaust testing service now available

Ommers Gav broke Pinky

You broke it - you bought it :p

Someone with fists of ham had had a go at an exhaust hanger :p Personally I think the bodged hanger damaged the back box causing it to fail prematurely :nerner:

I'm quite attached to Pinky now and wouldn't object to buying him as it goes. The first time I drove him I was really quite embarrassed but soon got over that. Now I find it quite therapeutic to blat around terrorising the modern cars in a bright pink Panda - you get some odd looks hammering down the outside lane of a busy motorway. (y)

*I wonder who? (y)

(that rubber was a third the thickness of the original:eek:)

im sure if you did not want to pay a fortune, you could get them welded.
Talons exhaust completely fell off when i pulled on it, i welded it back together and it has been fine since.

easy get another few more years out of them.

if i was local, i weld them for you... or buy the old 4x4 one off you for scrap value (y)

fallout's one is well dented where it has hit something.. still works though.. after lots of welding!

Pinky has left Gavin's today and returned to Alton.........

After laying dormant for over six weeks he fired up no problem (y). Not that he needed to as Oslo was going to A frame him back anyway.

I guess it won't be too long before we think about starting on the restoration, but with Christmas and a workshop reorganization getting in the way nothing is likely to happen this year. Besides, we don't have enough money yet anyway :(

Talking of money :p, can I just remind everyone about the http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ website. Hundreds of retailers are involved with this now, each one making a donation to a chosen cause every time that someone who's signed up buys from them.

Out of the whole Forum we only have a handful of people donating to Pinky using this website. I understand that some of you may not buy online, or are signed up but to a different cause and that's fine, but if you could sign to Pinky on this website it could make a big difference to donations. Just with the handful we already have we have had nearly £70 donated by retailers so far, and this is free money for us, those of us signed up pay nothing, so please have a look.

Ok, lecture/ grovelling over.

There may be a possibility that Pinky can be shown in April next year at the NEC in another show, attending this time in a stripped down state (steady now), Gavin and I are working on this at the moment. If all goes well we will be looking to tie this in with other ways to raise Pinky's profile and boost donations, but first we need to confirm that Pinky has a place.

That's it for now, good to have him back on the drive, even with a noisy exhaust. ;)
