From the day one, my gearbox leaks , drop by drop. I tryed changing 'manseta' (rubber thing between gearbog and shaft - number 5 on the picture) a few times. Did'n help. I think the problem is little dots on shaft (marked on the picture by myself) which do not seal with 'manseta'. theese dots are about 0.5 x 0.5 mm, and 0.3 mm deep. And there are hundreds of them.

Is that supposed to be there or not?

My mechanic took some white teflon tape (used by plummers) and wrapped it around that place. It was good for 2 years but now it leaks again.

Help!

I don't recall anything like that at all on the driveshafts when I did the boots on the CL (but that was nearly 4 years ago now).

My memory isn't what it was, so if the opportunity presents itself I'll try and look at them - the trouble is they're buried at the back of the garage behind a lot of "junk", and still fastened to the gearbox.

I've had a look at the parts CD, which has jogged my memory a bit as it seems slightly different to your picture:
I didn't disturb the bearing(s) #15, just took the circlip out of the end of the shaft to release the tripod joint, and tie-wrapped the outboard end of the boot to the bearing without disturbing it.

I don't think I actually saw the area of the shaft which forms a seal with the bearing.
