i was sitting there and then it came to me . why dont they make a new panda brand new but exactly the same as the old pandas to evrey detal and mabey add power steering or some other stuff

think i heard that there arnet that many pandas arournd on the roads anymore so this would be a grat way to bring back an old classic

Well the Panda was still being made in it's birthplace Italy until 2003, I think they even had central locking!

But I don't think a new-old Panda would work, although it would certainly be great to have an old looking Panda which: is quiet, refined, and doesn't rattle.

The new shape Pandas are good though, very good indeed.

a 4x4 with an alloy doors and galvernised body would be good

No it would probably be the end of Fiat though!

Unfortunately any new Panda would have to be substantially different in order to comply with new safety regulations. It would have to be a much heavier car, and would probably have to have a more rounded shape.

Well the eco-basic was going to meet all that. It's just no one would of bought it as we're all car snobs now and believe that the most basic super minis should have air con... (and no not the holes in the dash like we've got!Lol.) So that's why we got the new panda instead....
