it's an '86 fire 1000cc. it was running rough since i bought it (a week ago). i cleaned the carburator and checked the plugs and everything looks good. it started to flood after that. i rebuilt the carb and now when i give it more than half throttle it would bog down like it floods. it idles really rough also. the vaccum advance canister looks brand new so i don't think it's a vaccuum problem.

i'm posting this for nacho what he's telling me over the phone what to write. i haven't been here in a while. hope everyone is doing well... i'll post about my new (to me) panda.

cheers,
serge

Well, I changed the sparkplugs, wirers, distributor cap, rotor, coil, points, condensor. Also, changed the Oil/filter (just because the oil was very, very black). I do all of this and still the thing does not run better. It continues to bog out when you give it gas. I finally got tired of it and took it to a mechanic. I will definatly post the reason it runs like ****. This all started because I was going to clean up the engine a little to make it better, and all it did was make things worse. That has been my luck lately with Pandas though, but I will never give up on them. Thanks for all the help on here.

Good news,
50 Euro later the Panda is running better then ever. The mechanic said that the cam belt was off one tooth and the timing was off. He also found one jet in the carburator to be clogged. I guess I should have checked closer for the timing, but would never have thought the belt would be off one tooth. The best thing is I am back in the Panda and it is a fun as ever. Happy Pandering to all.
