Hi Guys, just a quick one. Is the rocker cover gasket the same for the 769cc FIRE as the 999cc?

Ordering a replacment for the 750L, loads listed for the 999cc, but the only ones that mention the 769cc are about 5-6 times the price

So will I be ok ordering one for a 999cc?

Can't be 100% sure Jon but I would say they are the same. The only reason I can think that they would be different is if the 750 block is shorter, but I'm pretty sure it's not. Perhaps if you have both engines there you can have a measure.

Fair advice, i've done my about 2 mounts ago, every thing was fine till two weeks back when i had a longer journey 200miles around moors. After that engine did start to sweat from rocker cover gasket - front distributor side corner. I need to take some action to prevent engine getting mucky.
Can I take the cover off, clean meeting faces and gasket to dry, add hi temp silicone and put all back together? or new gasket is only solution to go for?

Clean and add gasket goo all around. Thin layer should do it. With a new gasket add goo as per verns advice.

I've orderd it, only £3.80, peanuts in comparison to the £25 the DVLA mugged me to tax the Panda today as the logbooks gone AWOL
