I had a play with o/s rain drain hose under bonet to relocate it from laying on inner wing, been catch by rain recently and water was draining directly on alternator belt pulley/fan. My bad, forgive me God!!! Now- couple weeks after that situation my alternator is starting to be louder and louder, probably as a result of water ingres.

Is there any way to regrease altrnator bearings or to do something before it will be to late???
many thanks

The alternator bearings are simple to replace. Just remove the alternator from the car, put it on a bench and get a few basic tools to it and it will all come apart fairly easy.
The bearings are common size, any bearing and belt shop should stock them. They only cost a couple of quid.
While you are there, why not replace the belt. :)

Any idea what the sizes are? According to Google no bearings shops within shopping distance. I need to source them online, but can't have car of the route.

I cant remember the size, it was a while ago...
Bearings have a code stamped on them, thats what you use to get replacement ones.
You could also try the 'cheaper' way, put a little drop of oil under the bearing seal and away you go...
Will not last long, but in the mean time you will have time to locate and order the parts you need.
