Helllllllllllllp.

Having just replaced a front caliper it made sense to change the pads at the same time.

I now have an annoying tinging noise coming from one of the front wheels.

I jacked the car up spun the wheel and sure enough there it was. A uniformed Ting Ting Ting. Took the wheel off spun the hub and its silent.

I've checked the inside of the wheel for obvious signs of contact but there is nothing.

Also if I press the brake pedal whilst moving it shuts up.

I just cant find it & its driving me mental.

Cheers Jeff

Did you fit the anti rattle springs back on the top of the pads?

Wheel balance weights stuck inside the wheel can cause this too, normally on alloy wheels though. Your caliper will stick out into the wheel further now you have new pads, so may be touching something it wasn't before.

Another possibility is a bent backplate, but you should still get the noise even with the wheel off if it was this.

Thanks I'll check it today.

Is possible to fit the pads the wrong way round? ie clips at the bottom. Would it make any difference

Thanks for your advice, I've had the brakes apart, reseated them & it seems to have cured it. Your a legend.
