Hi guys

needing a little help i've had a search and can't find exactly what i need. so....

Purple Haze has been a bit dodgey on the breaks recently and he's away getting looked at today whats happening is when your sitting with your foot on the brake to slow yourself down then go to actually stop the pedal is going right to the floor. So were hoping it's air in the system however worst case it'll be the master cylinder.

Now this is where i have the problem this is gonna sound stupid but which one fits PH? as some know he's a 1993 panda parade 999cc injection fire engine and i found all of these on fleabay HELP...

Hi Neeny

This is a common Panda problem, it will be the master cyl. at fault. Your best bet is to forget EBay for this one and give your reg. no to a motor factors.
The two Pandas I've had to fix were carbed models without a servo. I did buy a new cyl. from eBay because they were so cheap (about £10), but they weren't an exact match when it came to where the pipes fit, so I just swapped all the new innards into the original body.
Having said that, the four servoed Pandas I have here all look to have identical master cyls. so it may not be as risky to use eBay for the later ones. Will check your options when I get home so I can give you a better answer.

Ok, had a look......

1. No.
2. Yes.
3. No.
4. No.
5. Maybe.
6. No.
7. No.

I have the YES one brand new and boxed....I have not fitted it to the rest project for the reason Vern has said....the pipes don't line up (one goes at the front end and the two in the middle go into a splitter which utilizes only one of the holes.

See this is why i love panda's all you guys are fantastic so helpful.

Mechanic phoned back and said it's the 2 rear cylinders so they are getting replaced today get PH back tomorrow £70 for both parts and fitting thought that was ok. And he's coming back with 2 new front tyres too so all is good.

And i know now what to do if the master cylinder goes too.

Although it prompted a search of Italian ebay and now i'm depressed i've seen so much stuff that want for the panda and 126 that's a bit to expensive :(

So thank you all, you's really are a fantastic bunch of guys (y)

Thanks again guys. I might be able to get out and drive PH again feels like it's been a long time :(

I will do Kev he's a new mechanic our old one started mucking us about he was supposed to have fixed the brakes but he's obviously just bled them so hopefully thats it sorted now.

We got him to replace 2 tyres on the Panda and repare a puncture on one of the rear tyres £93 and he replaced the front to brake pads on the Vito £58, about what we were expect plus he comes and get the car so pretty please :D

aww damn.

i have my eye on another. however it may be in bits but "complete". all well, lest i wont have to strip it haha

really though the 2 parts look pretty much the same lol all the same bits where all the pipes fit and even the mounting to the servo all seems to line up.
i was just wondering though.. my master cylinder is brand new so i dont need it changing lol

is the brake servo on the passenger side.

i just broke a panda parade 1994 and still have the brake servo and master cylinder and that was a 998 spi.

let me know if interested.

kevin

Well guys it turns out that the rear cylinders wasn't the whole problem. It's helped slightly things feel a bit firmer but it's still having the same issue so master cylinder it is then :(

Unclespevie if you could pm me with detail about the one you have that would be great. (y) and it's defiantly gonna fit right?

sorry for off topic...but

how did you removed brake fluid reservoire?
any tools involved? special technics?

i was strugling with mine (non servo '91) to take it off, that was a real PITA and i did give up.

many thanks
