I started stripping R222 MUD down with the hope of rebuilding it. Today I obtained the part numbers for the panals that I require from iper. Incuding the radiator, wing, bonnet, engine mounting bracket and a few extras, I was looking at between £800/1000. Fiat said all the parts are available and a friend was going to do the job in his bodyshop. While having a last look round the car, I discovered that the rear engine mount was also broken. This is part of the bell housing and was the last straw for me. I have decided that I have to scrap the car and sell what spares I can to get the salvage money back. Before the bump, the car was in excellent condition and there are still lots of good bits! If anyone is looking for spares, let me know what it is you want. I don't know how to work prices out but perhaps fair offers or putting them on Ebay would be acceptable. Also, if someone wanted to take the whole car and rebuild it, I would accept an offer. I'm too old to take on a project like that myself. You can email me at [email protected] if you want to ask for a particular part or have a suggestion.

Further to my previous post, I have had interest in buying the complete car either to rebuild or to break up for spares. If I sell as a complete car (bear in mind it is lhd) it will come with two sets of wheels, one set only a month old with new Q3 snow tyres, both are alloys and there is a spare set of good mud and snow tyres. I have many brand new spares; headlights mirrors, a complete 4x4 clutch & thrust bearing and probably things I have forgotten about. In the car, there is an genuine fiat inclonometer and clock and I had recently fitted a towbar & electrics. Apart from the front offside, the car is ok and the doors, tailgate and trim are as good as new.

How do I assess it's value? The insurance company let me buy it back for £500 and I know that I would be able to get my money back easily selling the bits. Can anyone help me put a value on the car, I don't want to put it on Ebay as I would rather it go to a Forum member who will rebuild it.

wish i was in work man, i so would of jumped at a panda in need of a fix up.
as for the insurance.. heh cat c or d.. wouldnt mater id keep the car forever!!
i'd of even had a go at converting it to rhd, cant see it being to hard if the technology is the same as a cinqs.

Well one needs a VIC and one doesn't so there is a difference between C & D.

And the tech isn't the same, meaning conversion to RHD isn't really prohibitive.
