Really sorry I have no photo to go with this thread but does anyone know the function of the vacuum tube that feeds into the carb body from the airbox (fixed on opposite to the cam cover breather tube) as I think it may be the source of a few mishaps i've had in the past.

The car is a 1000CL, Weber carb.

I'd be really grateful for any replies.

Thanks guys,

Nick

Hi Nick,

What do you mean by you've had a few mishaps? E.g. Choking not doing its job, sudden jolts in the revs, loss of power? It could be blocked or not feeding from the airbox properly. Normally is a leaf or something silly.

Rhys:rolleyes:

that one dont go into air box though does it?
Yeah. Also doesn't go to the carb body! Now I've read the question properly, the answer is it is an anti-flood system. The diaphragm the pipe connects to can move the choke butterfly to prevent over-enrichening. If it was to fail, it wouldn't cause running issues per se

Thanks for the replies, I had a feeling it'd be linked to a few issues with the the engine not idling that I've had before but evidently not,
