Hi
Anyone got any photos of a fast road panda, you know what i mean alloys/lowered/smoothed/debadged/1242 conversion etc.Not with huge bodykits or spoilers.
I`ve seen pics of rrocketmans and pandamonium just wondering if theres anything else out there?
Cheers
Adrian

The problem with the Panda is that it never had a sexy image, there was never a factory sporty model, like the XR2 was to the fiesta, so the youngsters never bought it, so as a result there are hardly any performance goodies available (sigh) also the boxy shape does not lend itself to body kits, every panda I see done up with one reminds me of Dr Who's robot dog thing.

Mind you, I've often toyed with the idea of doing up the 750, there is a lot of tuning potential in the FIRE and I always like the idea of doing something contrary!

I thought this was quite tastefull.....

thank god that one's only photoshop, it looks fresh off 'Pimp My Ride'

Hi
I like the team pandomonium one before they totally raced it,looks great in red with wide minilites.
They all seem too high even the ones lowered look like they `re on stilts.
It would be nice to do a sleeper with just mint smoothed body work and a 1242 fire engine from a punto.
I like the idea coz pandas are so cheap to buy and the parts seem quite cheap aswell.
Cheers

That black one is very nice indeed, nicely understated, the mock up looks like something that had escaped from Bangor car park!

So what would a nice sleeper be?

I'm thinking, mildly tuned 1000 FIRE, decent exhaust, lowered by about 35mm, certainly no more than that, 13 or 14 X 5'5 wheels, decent dampers and poly bushes and most importantly DECENT BRAKES!

I also like the idea of a stripped out interior and all extra weight removed, say 75-80 bhp and 600 kilos.

On the subject of dampers I found softening my Koni shocks was much better than having then too stiff. It rides better and it handles better cos it doesnt break your spine when you go over a bump

Yeah, I agree if the car is too stiff, the wheel will skip over undulations in the road rather than ride on the surface, also if the car is too low, the suspension geometry will be adversely affected.

How much would a 8V 1242cc engine and gearbox cost from a scrappie? I was thinking one of those in a panda with bike carbs would be a laugh :)

Hi
If you check out team pandamoniums website thats the conversion they used to run and it says they`ve still got the carbs on a home made manifold for sale at £100,you can then use the original panda distributor because the 1242 fire has a blanking plate which can be removed and the cam has also got the key way in it to drive a distributor,Fit a luminition electronic ignition in it,and bobs your dads brother!!!!!!
I`ve researched this quite a lot because i`d like to do a similar conversion to my cinque,It would do away with all the complicated stuff like the map sensor/ecu/throttle pot/throttle body etc.
Cheers
