And the most recent pics. My photgraphic coverage is a bit spotty covering some stages well and omitting others, just depended on whether time pressures were too great to consider pic taking. Hope this lot is some use to other rebuilds, it certainly cost me a few grazed knuckles!

Good work! I loved my Y10, it was a fantastic car.

Funnily enough my missus also had a Y10 (long before we got together). She absolutely loved hers too.
It was white and the registration was E??? BAP.
I wonder....?

Anythings possible, i'm its thirteenth owner. BAP is a Brighton reg plate. I can just imagine them being trendy in Brighton in the late 80s. Any pics of said beastie?

Heres some more up to date pics of Happy Hen. Recent work, includes Head Gasket, thermostat, vacuum advance, oil change, fuel pump, 2 new tyres, brake bleed and prob other things im forgetting. Needs windscreen, water pump, speedometer that works

Scratch that the water pump is done. Friendly ex Lancia Beta owner came over to chat. Then some mormons asked if they could help and then tried to convert me. Hopefully water pump will be ok. Its 2nd hand o9ff an old 999cc Uno mtotor that had bee sitting around for ages. At least its a metal impeller version and its bearings are a lot less shot sounding than the old pump. New stat as well as was running too cold.

Another water pump. Fan & speedo & odometer working again and lots of work to door to cut out grot.

Ta First Car :D. It's not a bad job. The drivers side needed a facelift. TBH honest I have been toying with the idea of selling it. I used it for a full week and the xhaust snapping in two was all the thanks i got.

New windscreen in.... And its time I did something with these engines

What are you doing with them engines??;)

Good to see you have saved that wee beast!alot of work has gone into it!ive had 6 Y10s and still have my Y10 turbo, although it isnt on the road just now,i think i may have seen your lancia about?,i only live up the road in Arbroath

Are you going to bring it to the scottish italian car day on the 27th of may?(y)

Hey

I occasionally drive through Abroath in my White Hen when I want a mooch at Steptoes. The plan for the engines is to fit one! Tired of them being paperweights.

I cant believe theres a Turbo in Abroath  Pity its not on the road I would have loved a ride in one to get the feel of what the pay off is for fitting one.

Do cars have to be very shiny for the St Andrews day. Mine could generously be described as scruffy

yeah ive had it for about 8 years-its like an uno turbo just less raw, only had it on the road for about 2 years-i bought it from a guy who had two identical red turbos!,took it off the road to do repairs and autobianchis, fiat 600s,vw splitscreens and bloody girlfriends have got in the way!:rolleyes:i will fix it tho!i would say if you ever go to buy another Y10,even though the turbo is cool, the GTie is a better car(i have an Agra Engineering fully rebuilt head for a GTie if you know anyone who needs one! lol)I passed up an absolute mint 40k white high spec GTie in dundee years ago-still wish id stepped up for it-lack of space n all that

i took the turbo to the italian car day up when it was abit scruffy back in the day so dont you worry, who cares,at least you'l turn up in a rare car!-respect for that!(btw the show is at a different venue this year, check the events bit for the address)

let me get back to you but i might be able to get you a genuine Lancia full Y10 workshop manual off a friend-should help with the turbo conversion and if you ever need pics just let me know:)

(i have an Agra Engineering fully rebuilt head for a GTie if you know anyone who needs one! lol

Theres a bloke whos just bought a Gtie on Retro Rides. His is working at the minute but it wont last lol. Agra did my unsexy FIRE head as well. One of the reasons I want to try and fit the the Brasil unit is I wouldnt mind mechanical crabbiness if it was coupled with some performance. Despite me lavishing care on the FIRE motor it nver quite feels 100%. It always starts and runs but lacks the final revvy enthusiasm. I know a Turbo could be a right royal pain but at least I could overtake with authority. Thanks for the manual offer (y), I think I already have it. Its like an fiat dealership manual. Wouldnt mind a gander at the Turbo some time to see how stuff like the oil cooler mounts.

Il definitely bring it to the Italian day. Do you think it would be heresy to paint it rustoleum red? Very little of the white paint is orginal now anyway
