General White Hen Rebuild

Well I bought the door, its a later series 3 door but the sheet metal is the same(I hope:eek:) I'm trusting that it isn't full of rot but i dont see any bulges or bubbling in the lower skin and its lived in Italy so seen relatively little salt hopefully.

I like the whole facelifted mk1 look but doubt I'll ever find evrything else needed :(

I might just do what my builder did with every problem either silicone it or expanding foam it

Or steal Daves....

Rather than stealing Daves you could buy this.

http://www.ebay.it/itm/stop-fanali-...tDomain_101&hash=item20ff1ee917#ht_386wt_1235

I'm not wild about the facelift front but I quite like the face lift rear.

Your skills are pretty good now man! That Lancia should have a made in Scotland stamp on it :D And maybe change the manufacturer with the DVLA to Kris. The Kris Y10!

Cheers mate. Mind you I found a motor the other day I reckon was too far gone even for me. I checked and the strut top mountings had gone.

To be fair, that's probably what yours would look like by now if it was all original:devil:

It might well resemble that Cavalier or possibly have started a new career as a Zanussi like scruffbag ;)

Seat belt mount progressing

Goodness its quiet around here compared to my memory of the Panda section a few years ago. Posts would be lucky to last a day before falling off the 1st page.

I still have the Y10. It has a new home in a workshop these days.

Its here with my most recent purchase that is undergoing welding surgery itself at the minute. A car that itself was brand new when I bought the Y10 back in March 2005.

I'll try to give more timely updates.

Yup, That was the good old days! Need to look back through this lot for inspiration - just started stripping Grumbleweed to see what welding is required so need something to keep me going. Need it done for the return of SICD at the end of May so need to get a move on soon. See you there?

Ah the Italian car show is back on is it. Yeah that be a nice little day out for me. I'll need the break from babies and toddlers. I could get the Y10 MOTed by then I suppose. You don't have a Y10 bootlid amongst your stash do you.

Grumble weed must be on a good mileage by now. No more snapped tie rods I take it?

Chance would be a fine thing, GW's been more or less laid up since I moved in '16 and has been MOT less for about 9 months now. SICD gives me an excuse to finally get round to it(y)
And no, sorry, Panda panels only here now.

Hope GW resurrection is on schedule. More chance of me landing on the moon than having the Y10 ready for Sunday. Done a bit of welding just for a change but not nearly enough for an MOT.

Erm, nope. SICD transport currently looks like this:

and GW is sitting with his back end in the air less back axle, fuel tank, exhaust & back bumper while I get around to playing with my iffy old welder.
... and the Seicento isn't exactly what you'd call "finished" either really but it's driveable and legal so Tally Ho!

Next year. Definitely.

Where's Grumble rusty. Trailing arm area at the back of the sill?

Done some more average welding with my dodgy welder. Gasless is a pain.

Where's Grumble rusty. Trailing arm area at the back of the sill?

Back end of the sill/ leading edge of rear arch behind the little plastic guards. Fortunately doesn't seem to have got as far as the trailing arm mounts, it's basically going in the exposed part of the bottom seam in the wheel arch. Oh and the rear panel behind the bumper.. and the bumper brackets at the rear are basically gone. Nothing too dramatic really. Seicento is however now also broken but thus far in nice simple mechanical ways so aiming to get that sorted for Stanford Hall and then I will definitely give Grumbleweed some attention.
The amount of welding you have done on that little Y10 to keep it on the road is truly heroic though - respect:worship:
