Electronic Ignition?

Is it possible to replace the points on my Marbella with an electronic ignition??
I am getting damn tired of sorting out those points

If so, with how much dough do I need to part with if it is possible?

Thanks.

Re: Electronic Ignition?

Yes there are some really good kits out there now for all points type distributors.
You need to find out what or who makes your distributor,
Try these for size and see if they are any good.

Re: Electronic Ignition?

Wow, I didn't realise they were so damn cheap! Maybe I would have converted it ages ago and saved me alot of hassle with slipping point gaps.

I am really not sure what my distributor make is. I know the points themselves are Fiat Marelli, Ignition coil is Bosch..

I don't know which would be a good option as I do not entirely know what I am looking for here.

Re: Electronic Ignition?

There are only 2 types of aftermarket electronic ignition, optical and magnetic, both as good as each other, but you do need to know the make and model of the distributor, should be stamped on the distributor body.
