Hi,
as I'm rebuilding my 4x4, I reached a dead end :bang:
The prop shaft supports in the donor car are... were... I cannot use them. Rubber fell apart.
I called the local fiat dealer, but since I don't know the part No., he doesn't even want to check the availability and the price of this rart.
Ebay.it comes up with prices from 96 to 160 Euro + p&p

The question is:

Did anyone try to fit in a different support and bearings?
Polish Fiat 125 and Fiat based Polonez were rear wheel drived. Supports for those cost around 20 Euro- for to eight times less!

Hi, good project!! I'm restoring a mk2 Sisley so you have my full sympathy...

I sugest checking EPER and private messaging pandamonius maximus as he is the resident mk1 4x4 expert and is more likley to have a part number for you than anyone else I can think of...

As far as alternative solutions I haven't got that far with mine so I can't visualise what's required although the 4x4 part isn't really Fiat, is was made under license from Steyr Puch... :(

Good luck, Luke. (y)

You can however buy the entire centre section of the propshaft which does include the two spinny rubber mounts.
Part No # 46307205

It'll cost you,.. wait for it,... £974.87 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(y) bargain, buy 2! lol

Hi,
120Euro x2 +p&p...
that's more than I payed for the entire panda ;-)

However, it seems that the fiat125 has the same diameter of the shaft and the size of the part allows it to fit it between the floor and protective sheet os steel.
original part looks like this (107 Euro):

125 support like this (6 Euro):

If I succeed, I'll let you know.

:)

Yeah let us know how you get on. You'll want to come up with away to isolate those brackets. I suspect the vibration could be a bit annoying.

I guess you could recreate the original by cutting off the old rubber, getting a block of rubber/elastomer and cut a similar shape and stretch it over the bearing. You'll need to get creative with how the rubber mounts to the bracket though.

I'm not that sure about the bracket isolation. If it worked in fiat 125, why wouldn't it in a Panda.
Most shaft supports look like the one I want to fit in- iveco, land rover, mercedes.
