General Light at the end of the tunnel

General Light at the end of the tunnel

Nearly there with the dash. Very useful having a copy of a Y10 workshop manual.

Only a couple of bits that are a pain. The cables that control the heating and vent for example. Very little space to work on them and need to remember were it all goes for puting it back together.

More access from the engine bay

Need to get all the last bits out as it is going into the welders next week and don't want to leave any interior that could get damaged.

I have decided to go for Pasadoble Red for the bodywork. This is the colour that is used on Fiat 500's and other new Fiats.

Okay that's the vent controls finally removed. The dash is nearly out but the wiring loom is holding on for dear life. The little italian that installed this must have had some very clever tools as there are some screws in places I simply cannot get to.

Thankfully I at least have the windscreen out so have a bit more access and visibility

Will try again tomorrow.

Is the Panda dash such a pain to get out? From what I remember of the 1982 mk1 that I had, there is not a lot to it.

Cheers

Dave

Looks like a great project, I looked around for a Y10 turbo a while back, but gave up as they're so rare!

There's not much to the panda loom, there is only one large hole in the bulkhead where the wires pass through, and most of the dash can be removed with one philips screwdriver!

Should have kept my mk1 panda then (y)

My car has y10 turbo bumpers and exhaust so looks very similar but should hopefully be a bit more reliable. :D

The dash is out. What a pain that was. Now it is out I can sort out all the wiring for the speakers, amp, rev counter and other bits and bobs.

Splendid work. Where are the nice red Fila seats???

I see you are in Dundee, will you have it finished for the Scottish Italian Car day in St Andrews in May? Would be good to have two y10s present.

The rears are still red, but the fronts are long gone. I had been toying with an idea of removing the rest of the Fila stripes. Im not really a fan of special editions, and the car is such a bitsa it hardly matters anymore.

I'd love to bring it to St Andrews and it should be finished:) Id just be worried it would look a little :yuck: Il have to polish it a lot or hand out beer goggles.

If you bring strong enough goggles it might even look like Trevor's Y10

Good luck with pulling it all together.

is that the infamous 'yntegrale'?
I'm really missing mine now, If there's a chance of 2 Y10s in the metal together I might need to make a trip north in May, when's this meet then?
