When I press the button to open the tailgate nothing happens.
I have had the catch mechanism off today and it seems a bit loose.

Is there a way of adjusting any of this so that when you press the button it actually opens the door and doesn't just get you annoyed.

Cheers again folks

Darren

There is a particularly stupid and fragile exposed spring, about 1" long, at the receiving end of the catch. If this is even slightly stretched you'll have problems.
Also, the push button lock itself needs a smear of (copper-type) grease inside the grommet.
The only good thing about Panda locks is that you can change all of them in 5 minutes.

Had another look at it today.

It looks like the lever that is pushed via the push button is loose / worn on its rivet.
There does not look to be a way of tightening it. So I think this might be my first conversion. I'm thinking a lever next to the drivers door much like the Nissan's have. I'll have a better look tommoroe i think. Then sort out pricing and the like.

Your right about the locks though Pandafan. I havenit had a look at the door locks yet but the tailgate one took seconds to change over.

Just had a thought there about you guys with the good old WD40. That stuff is great for freeing stuff but due to it's evaporation it's of absolutely no use as a long term lubricant. Once you have it free use some light oil to lube the bits and protect them fully.

Couldn't agree more........WD40 is the best for freeing off, but after that you really need to use the best type of lubricant for the job in hand. Check specs.
