If somebody is interested, on Serbian Panda Forum one of our members present a ``fire-wire`` remote system for back-door opening from cabin. Member is a outdoor worker, so they need to open back door many times during his job to use his tools without took the boot key out of the Panda.

Text is on Serbian (so you can use Google language tools to translate) and pictures on link - tells more than words.......

didn't know they had them. was thinking uno mk2 3dr would be right length.

Only problem i cans ee is if the catch mechanism on the uno/cinq is different from the panda then it'll require some modifications.

where would you fit the release lever.

Rigth hand side of seat? inbetweent he two seats by handbrake?

Might investigate in a bit.

...the catch mechanism [may] require some modification.

Didn't know they had either, til on a job on Weds night, rescuing a stricken Cinq from the outside lane by The Fort Shopping Centre in Brum. It was unattended when we arrived and after moving it to a lay-by, I wanted to make it secure - like the Panda, you can only lock the doors once they're closed. I spotted the lever, so I locked it from the inside and then climbed out of the hatch!
The lever is down by the RH sill on the Cinq, tho it could be fitted elsewhere on the Panda if needed.

Didn't have any flyers but I left the Forum details on the driver's seat ;)

Been over to scrappy to have a look at the cinq mechanism.

much diferent to the panda system, so this could mean something will have to hand made if anyone wants one.

what happens is when cable is pulled it pulls a metal piece around(arrowed and marked wth red), and when it moves it pushes against the bottom catch on the bootlid(bottom white bit in pic too). Theres no springs to much the hatch up, i guess once relased the gas struts have enough energy to raise the bootlid a little.

Punto's have this fitted too(well the one i saw), but the hatch had been taken so couldnt see how mechanism worked. looked similar to cinq though.

Ideally seeing the y10 setup would be more use.

Pics.

When the leaver is pulled, how does the boot pop open, i can only think that when you pull the leaver, you open the catch, but once you let go it'll closee again:confused:

I'm off to investigate

Panda Classic is equipped with rubber absorbers (on chassis) for the back door. These rubber absorbers constantly - press door slightly-out, preventing noises during drive and enable to open the door when you press black button on door (only can be pushed after unlocking). So pulling lever - opens catch , then rubber absorbers push the door - and it is enough to unlock and open the door slightly out, (even if black-button is locked).

I knew there was something there that done it but couldn't think what. It is indeed the two rubber absorbers :) (y)

Yep, yep - Hurray!!!!(y)(y)(y)
(Rubber ``absorbers`` - simpliest - couldnt bee !!).

BTW: each rubber absorber could be adjusted (by screwdriver - unscrew a little and move out or in, and tight in the place again) - just to adjust in-out position and -how much preassure we want-towards the door)!!!. Outer position of rubber absorber- much preassure toward door (door will be quickly launched out:D:D:D) and less ``outer`` position of rubber absorbers- easy - closing the door....:devil::devil:

Lever is similar, and I think perfectly fits.....
Only have to do few modifications like on Pic attached

NOTE: Do not forget to disangage spring onto Panda lock during modify - to avoid possible injury caused by strong spring...

Other possibility is to fit central locking motor to rear door mechanism and use switch from electric windows to control it. Motor needs 1s pulse to open/close. My y10 has central locking at rear door, that gave me idea ;). But it only locks/unlocks, it doesnt open.
