I am just about to mate the engine and gearbox again. There is a bit of thin cover plate for the top half of bell housing but none for the lower half. Should there be one?
There never has been one which may explain why my old clutch rusted solid long before it was worn. Also should the timing hole have a cover?

Cheers Vince

Thanks again Alan.
The only plate I have is the photo, just painted timing marks white.
I will make a lower cover from a bit of old ali caravan side.

I have just discovered that the lower half of the bell housing is recessed towards the gearbox so if I just cut a flat sheet it will scrape on the back of the flywheel.
Does anyone have a pic or diagram of this lower cover part?

have still not got on ePER no matter what the time of day!

This is the only one I could find. Not much help really.

I'm going to be working on mine next week. I'll try to get a decent photo and post it up for you.

Brilliant, thanks for that. I have joined the eng/gearbox now but think that plate will slide in underneath.
Wonder whare the original went.
