As part of my rejuvenation/rescue of my 4x4, I was planning on changing the spark plugs leads.
I purchased these from Halfrauds along with a few other bits.

However the leads and the rotor arm were both slightly different to what was on the car previously.
The rotor arm was only slightly different - I tried it and all seems fine along with the engine sounding smoother.

However the leads seems to be a slightly different length. The longest of the new leads is about 4 inches longer than the longest of the current leads.

I took these back and got a refund.
Is it possible that they are for a different model (these once came up on the computer as being suitable). Or is this sort of part generic and I shouldn't worry and just change them?

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Hi, there was a bit of trouble once with plug leads coming into contact with hot bits of engine...so some after-sales companies made the leads longer. This meant that they could come into contact with different hot bits of engine PLUS moving parts ! Progress...........

LOL

Can you recomend somewhere or a brand of leads to get?

My engine still doesnt sound great - although a lot better.
Im trying to renew most easliy accessable parts.

Cheers

Smokeme's leads should be fine. Ensure that you keep them clear of heat sources and away from the carb and life will be fine !
