Hi guys... I havent been here for a while since I put a new engine in my panda a few years ago!, but i've crashed my black panda CL 1990... them damn gate posts!, I hit it almost in the middle.. the inner wing has split, the wings look bent in, the wheels went at the back of the arch etc, I probably only hit the post about 20mph, sharp bend, broke from about 40mph, and it was like a sheet of ice, the car went straight foward and hit that damn post.. shame.. I spend over £400 last year on all the underneath, back end, springs, chassis, welding etc in doing it up. I dont think it is worth repairing now. So now I have bought.. guess what, yep another panda CLX injection 94'. But it seems slower than my 999cc carb, even the throttle responce is ropey and unresponsive, and advice? Is the CLX suppost to be a little quicker than the CL? and how easy would it be to replace the CLX with the CL engine, considering all the ecu, air assisted brakes etc?. I'll post a pic or 2 of my old one, sad to see her go :(

Hiya, sorry to hear about the accident :( I take it your ok?

As far as changing goes, should be easier than doing it the other way around (putting ECU engine in a carbed Panda) You can in thirory leave most of the electrics there dormant.

The only problem would be with the brakes being servo assisted as you mentioned, but wouldn't have thought it would be that hard to rig that up to a carbed engine (sure someone on here would have done it, Also the 4x4 Panda's are carbed, but come with servo brakes (y))

Jon.

Yeah were fine thanks, was just like a bumper car bump really, but its fair made a mess of the car.. yeah that cat!, my old was was like a leopard compared to this new one, and the automatic choke, that chunkier steering wheel, the beige dashboard,..... grr!... cheers guys, i'll post back more once this weather brightens up a bit, thanks. Anthony.

I'm surprise it done that much damage, I hit the back of a transit in my Selecta at about 25MPH and only smacked in the bumper and bracket and luckily managed to fix it.

Injection Panda's don't have auto Chokes (y) and the beige isn't in all injection Panda's, lol.

Hmmmm, even a transit is a bit softer than a gate post though, better to bounce off :p
