I hope your able to buy it back to strip for reasonable parts, but then again if it can't be done, then it can't be done.

I'm to far away unfortunatly, if around the corner you could put it on our drive and strip.



So what are you going to do then? Look for another?

How much are the insurance company planning on paying out?

Hopefully I can get it down the bottom of our garden. The problem is it will only roll jacked up with the O/S front wheel off. Should be fun cos it's a tight fit and uneven ground. My other half is going to have to sort the insurance out this morning as this one is in her name. Once that's done we can think about getting it delivered. I'm sure I will get another one. That CLX on ebay looks a beauty but it seems undecently hasty

sorry to hear that mate, dont jump in and accept the first offer they make like i said get some copies of ad's for panda's so you can show them what they are fetching now because if they offer you book price and take out your excess (if you have one) you might end up with nothing i see it alot through work. if you cant find any good ads what we could do is all the panda owners on here could put ours for sale in the classifieds just long enough for you to print a copy off !!! (would insert a smily face here but they wont work)

Thanks Rich that's a very kind offer. Things look worse now. It sounds as if the car is a category B so that we can't even keep it. I'll get back to you all if (or when) the offer is a joke. I had to go through the same process when the 4x4 had a little prang. It took me ages to even get close to what it was worth out of them.

I'm sure we will end up well out of pocket at the end of this either way.

Technically I sold Willie for £1600.00 so happy to put an add up if it helps.

She is in a very good condition (Before smack) and I would say insurance should be paying out about £500+ personally.

As usual with these things it's messy and I can't be bothered to go through the details. The category B seems very dodgy to me too, but we've decided to draw a line under it and move on now, as sad as the whole business is. One of the major problems is that we are both super busy at the minute and trying to deal with all of this just eats up days we don't have. If I find out which scrapyard it goes to then I'll let you all know. Then, at least, parts of the little car will live on amongst the FF! I am going give them a value of £550 which I think is fair.

P.S. I went to have a look at that CLX. I'll say a few words on the ebay thread.

I've been pretty busy these last couple of months, but I thought I'd say how this story ended. After all, even though the insurers took their time they basically paid out what we asked for the car without any quibbling (minus the excess of course). So we'll be sticking with them for the near future!

Anyway, you may see by my new sig that I replaced the purple Panda. I ended up buying Ben's CLX. I felt a little awkward as both Sam and me were interested. But I think it was all done in a gentlemanly fashion in the end. I'm pleased Sam's happy with his new car (but hope he'll be back with a Panda soon)

Anyway, thanks to Ben we are back up to full Pandering strength and both cars now have very obvious scumbag deterrents on the steering wheels!
