Firstly a big thanks to Carlt to emailing me about my starter motor, and everyone else who has sent me hints and tips about LT lead.
I rang my mechanic and told him to forget about needing to get the starter re-coned, so I've already saved £65
I was careful and wiggled one wire at a time on the starter until it ran.
I discovered the following wire was the problem one (I hope)
I had a look and the contact looked rather sorry for it's self. So I got the good old glass fibre pen out and cleaner the contact on the starter (with lead marked 'A' below running to it)
I was going to change the connector on the wire but it's started raining, so for now hopefully thats going to help a bit for the mo.
Now what Wire is what? Can I confirm whats arrowed on the following pic? I think I've listed the LT lead correctly but need the other two red wire's confirmed. Am I correct in thinking one is from ign with key on, and the other (the one I've cleaned) when the key is turned to start?
Many thanks. Jon.
