General New starter motor?

I might have one...

I think they're different cause when Mervyn Stewarts did the engine swap they didn't use the one off the selecta when they put it's engine into Sylvia...

Jim

In most (all) Panda's the started motor is situated around the back of the engine (awkward to get to) isn't is?

Because on the Selecta it's to the right of the engine on the gear box (it seems to be, most strange a set-up:confused:)

Thanks. Jon.

Go onto the NIIMC site and the trip is on there....

The selecta starter is def different to the manual panda so will need to get an auto one, I think I might have one although I have the feeling I left it with Ivor when I passed him onto Damon's brother if not it will be in the depths of the garage somewhere

Buggar, though it would be different. Not to worry to much, I'm going to get a price for refrence. Perhaps that's why they seem to go, because they're different.

I think it might just be the contacts though (I'm hoping) and am just speculating worst case sinario as I always like to (y)

I'm pretty sure you gave the spare starter to Austen (y)

Thanks Damon, thought that might be the case.....

Sorry off topic but how is he, Willie is missing him

He has become Austen's favorite means of transport (I've only seen him once in his Stilo since Christmas) and he has just given him a 6k service(y) Ivor appeared with Twinky and Floyd at Brooklands earlier this year doing his 'I'm a TV star' bit.
Saving him a fair bit on fuel too :D

......and today Ivor went past the 70,000 miles mark! Thats 1000 miles a month since I got him - and he hasn't let me down once!

Hope you got the Selecta's starter sorted!

Funny enough I have found a starter motor in the garage after looking for a BMW part and It's not a BMW starter, neither does it look like a manual gearbox starter so there is a good chance that it's a selecta one so Austen you might not have a spare :)

Does anyone have a pic of the Selecta Sarter motor fixings so I can be sure....?

Glad your enjoying him Austin and also very glad you became his owner. I'm also glad he's giving good service :D

If there's a spare selecta starter going unwanted , then i'm looking for one for a little project i am doing .
Alan the selecta starter is very small and has two bolt fixing . looking at end on from the dog gear end , with the solenoid at 12oclock the bolt holes are at 10 and 4 oclock [aprox]
