Hi all,
I have a question about the dash display light for the ebrake. Ever since I got the car the light has been on. I am just now going to try and fix the problem. Is there a sensor on the handle under the floor carpet or is there a wire off some place. This is the only problem I have with this panda. It has to be the best one ever built to be in such good shape with nothing breaking. Thanks for any help.

There is a switch under the e-brake that activates the light(it´s normal to get worn out, at least mine was), remember that the light may also indicate brake malfunction.

Hi... What usually happens is that, with a lot of use, the handbrke lever bends towards the driver. Eventually it brakes off in your hand (trust me...I know).
However: long before it does so, it registers as ,on' whilst you're driving. To check whether it is simply a misalignment of the handbrake, try pushing the lever towards the passenger seat as you are moving. If the red light goes off there really is probably nothing to worry about for the next 30,000 miles or so.

Smokey...Yes...I know that's why mine broke!!!!
I'm just trying to be helpful....I may not be the only ham-fisted, 17 stone Panda-driver here y'know!

Hey all,
I was in the car a yesterday and got to looking at the set up. I can see the little button switch you are talking about. I was pushing it and there was no change in the light. When I was driving I watched the light closely and when I hit a bump (easy to do in Italy) the light would flash off. I believe there may be a loose wire to the switch or something like that. I am going to check it here in the next couple of days. If I get a fix I will post the results. Thanks for the possibilities.
