I'm thinking about getting a CD player and some speakers for my Panda, so will I need to get a convertor for the cradle? I was hoping of getting something like a Sony as there are a few decent stereos kinking about in the region of £100

I got a brand new kenwood unit and i just rewired everything from scratch, the original power cables provided suck as they cut out when you try to start the car with the lights on for example(i have a new 65ah battery so thats out of the question). My biggest problem was finding a place for the front speakers.

I used the old speaker holders that fit in the dash. Cut the old ones out and stuck the new ones in. does look great but it works well.

Problem is mine had no front speakers[xx(], in fact it had no stereo at all. I now have a nice kenwood unit(cheap actually,kenwood kdc-4027v), 2 kenwood 6x9´s at the back, 2 kenwood 8" speakers at the front(located under the dash), a 12" kenwood sub(kfc-w3009), and a 700w amp(kenwood kac-6201)powering the sub. My setup is a bit overkill for a Panda and can be stolen in under a minute[}], but it does sound great.

Ive got some 10cm front speakers, kenwood 4way 6x9s run with 300w amp. and a lightning audio 12" sub ran with a 400w amp. and a song head unit.its not over kill on a panda i need 2 sound deaded it soon.

Ever noticed how everything rattles when you push the volume up. I did for get to mention that i have a second amp(identical)waiting to power my 6x9s(its installed just not connected)[xx(]. My car already has been sound proofed a bit but i´m looking at doing it a little better.

how do u sound proof a car?? dose it make much diffrence??

Not so much a panda, more of a grizzaly bear. GRRRR

how, that will depend on how much work your willing to do. yes it makes a big difference, panels won´t rattle and outside noise levels are greatly reduced.

I was wondering if the adaptor for the Fiat Uno would work? I'm not putting anything massive in, and I'll chuck the standard speakers from the front and make a decent boot build.

Sound deading does a hell of alot. you know when you have your stereo on and your windows open its quiter then you close them and its alot louder adn more crisp. Sound deadening is the same princable.(sorry bout all the spelling mistakes).

u need 2 get some deadening mats. like brown bread or dynamat. then take off the door cards,roof lining ect and stick the mat then then put the card back on.find u rattley noise and stick it down. there you go sound deading complete. hey smokeme u notice how much the roof rattles. crank the music on full and put something pn the top of you roof and watch it bounce.

Now i´ve eliminated most rattles, only get an ocasional rattle from the rear but it has to be almost all the way up(you need to be at least 10 feet from the car or it really hurts your ears). I used some sound dampening stuff i had left over from soundproofing a friends bar, it works ok.

My engine growls if you step on it, never did figure out why considering it´s completly stock except for a huge hole in the airbox(an exhaut burn accident[xx(]).
