General twin choke anyone?

General twin choke anyone?

I've now got four of those

There are two spare Uno 70 Webers somewhere in the shed (or is it the loft? They're around somewhere!), one on my 70SX Uno and look at the picture below. I bought a Uno bonnet, tailgate and set of chrome hubcaps off Ebay for £1. The bonnet is very rusty on one edge, the tailgate is ok but has a dent and the four chrome hubcaps are not for a Uno. I knew that about the hubcaps as I wanted them to hang on my wall :)

When I went to pick up the parts the seller said he had some other Uno bits. He threw in a brand new mk2 parcel shelf (still in bubble wrap!), a sunroof of unknown origin and I couldn't believe my eyes when he showed me a BRAND NEW WEBER TWIN CHOKE CARBURETTOR! Still with the factory blanking plugs!

I asked him how much he wanted for it. He said nothing, he was going to throw the bits in the bin as no-one seemed to want old Uno parts. I said that I didn't mind giving him something for the parts and he said that he was just happy that someone could use them.

So for £1 I got all the above along with a brand spanking new Weber twin choke. Bought new they cost something like £150 - £200

I feel very lucky :)

uno45, that sounds like an amazing deal!

I very much think so! I shall find out how much of a deal it is when I get a chance to fit it (got to wait until I finish my semester at University). I suspect the current carb I have is faulty (over-fueling, poor fuel consumption, dodgy choke etc.) so I'm hoping the new Weber will solve all those issues. For £1 I'm still very pleased :)

And Panda4ted, a Sisley 4x4 won't have a twin choke carburettor. It will have the single choke Weber 32TLF ;)
