Hi all, the old 4x4 is only doing about 30mpg, and smells like she's running very rich, does anyone know where I can get a carb overhaul kit for a Weber 32 TLF ?

Cheers, Mike

Thats exactly what I was looking for too . I found German eBay has some and Fiat dealer probably too. Haven't bought one yet cause hopefully panda's misfire will be cured buy a new distributor pick up !

To be honest Mike the fuel consumption isn't great on the 4x4's if light footed you will get 40ish but if using the 4x4 or you have a heavy foot 33-35mpg is normal. Just make sure that you are not loosing fuel elsewhere such as the filler pipe or the fuel hoses in the engine.

When you say the engine smells like it's runing rich can you clarify?

I looked at FPUK, they didn't seem to do carb spares, thanks anyway.

Alan, she stinks of petrol, even once up to temperaure and after a run, I can't see any dodgy fuel lines and the carb isn't wet. Tickover is pretty lumpy - I've bought a new vacuum advance unit, but haven't fitted it yet.

If she stinks of petrol I doubt your problem is your carb. Take it for a run with a relatively full tank and swerve sharply from side to side when safe to do so or on an industrial est or empty car park then look under the drivers side rear wheel.

Petrol evaporates quickly so you don't have long, leave the engine running and check round the filler pipe and return pipes and see if you are loosing fuel. Also check the fuel tank as they also can go porus with corrosion

If your engine is running rich the spark plugs will be very sooty.
