Hi, i have an old panda and am looking to strip it. I want to take the boot door off, however i dont want to cut the wires leading to the window wiper motors yet. There is a thick black cable which is wedged in pretty tight and not sure if i can just pull it threw.

Any ideas on how to get the boot off without cutting?

Thanx,

Tom

Is the big black cable connected to the rear heated window?

If so there is a plug at the end - a tug should pull it off.

On the Y10 the rear window wiper is powered by an arrangement of little metal squares and small plugs that press into them when the window is closed.

Fix It Again Tony!
Would swap for X19, Montecarlo Spider or GT.i.e in average/poor condition! Scottish based would be nice.

I think this must be one of the differences between the Y10 and Panda:
there is a collection of cables, and the rear wash pipe, inside a corrugated plastic tube going from the frame to the hatch.
No little metal squares - they sound Uno / Tipo like.

I haven't got that far in the CL dismantling yet, but I'd expect it to pull through - one way, or the other.

Is the 'Big Black Cable' really a cable ? A lot of Pandas and thier derivatives covered all of the various wires in a plastic sheath from the body to the tailgate.
If this is the case with yours all you have to do is cut the various wires and re-attach later. Don't worry...but please disconnect your battery first.:)

HHmmmmmmm
