i have a panda track day car which runs on the above carb, the engine is from a 1000 fire engine, i am running k&n filter with optimax unleaded with octane booster which gives rating of over 100, it is also fitted with an ecotec valve.

my problem is that i need to get more fuel into the engine so that my nitrous express system can operate.is it possible to jet this carb or is ther any other carb that will fit to allow bigger jets?

i gave my carb to a local company once before who jetted it but when i refitted the carb the engine would only run for 10 secs then cut out and not restart as no spark from coil, so fitted another carb and engine started first time.

if any one has any suguestions or ideas please reply.

"the engine is from a 1000 fire engine, i am running k&n filter with optimax unleaded with octane booster which gives rating of over 100"

first the engine is called a fire engine and not from(you really think they made Panda fire engines!!!!)
second octane booster is bull***t, use racing fuel if you want more octane. I used 98 unleaded with octane booster on my Twinturbo once and it detonated very heavely proving my point.

As for the original question:

yes the carb can be jetted but you need some way of adding more air when you nos is off otherwise it will run rich and kill the engine by isolating the plugs.:D

What have you done to the headgasket tocope with the nitrous i´m absolutly sure it won´t take it in stock form, i replaced mine 4 times just testing my turbo setup and i only reached 4-5psi for a few seconds.[}:)]

the front bumper has a 45 dia hole with air intake hose attatched to the original rubber intake to try and give better air flow,

the octane booster i am using is made by nos and works well had no probs with detonation

the nitrous express dry kit comes with a range of jets starting at 14 bhp which is what is in at the moment so have had no probs with head gasket.

a learnt lesson because on our first attemt we ran without checking the jet size which resulted in a cracked block and stipped manifold bolts.

hey.You can get 4 motorbike carbs from a website, with proto manifold from a racing team called pandamonium.but instead of spending money on nos and all that bullcrap which the car cant handle just put a bigger engine in.ive been looking at a few like the uno turbo, tipo turbo or even a strada engine the 1995cc abarth engine.

laters rich

Ps with the carb also try getting ur hand on a webber twin DCOEs

When i said adding more air i meant into the combustion chamber not the intake. The carburator needs to give the engine more air or less fuel, usually we add more fuel by means of a fuel pressure regulator when nos comes on and we leave the air alone as it´s more practical that way.

It wouldn´t be more difficult than my turbo setup but i changed internals yesterday(lowered compression to 9-1 and changed hg once more)yes it would be crazy fitting nos on an engine that can barely hold ahg in normal operation.

I also drilled my bumper and fitted an intake hole. Cant say it made much difference but heck.. it was fun quick and easy to do for the extra 3 or so bhp.. lmao :)
