Hello all!

I was on eBay as you do and saw my favourite Weber for sale at a price I just could not ignore! :D

So now I am waiting for my 28/36DCD to arrive, I know that the jets are going to need to be replaced with the correct ones for the engine it will be running on eventually. (Originally intended for my Saab I'm now thinking that my Panda might be a little more deserving!)

After a visit to my local and trusted motor factor, I stumbled home in shock at the price he managed to get for the jets I would need to convert my Webber so it will work on the Panda ... £50 and air filter another £50!

So what I really want to know is will the carb fit on the manifold I have on the 999cc FIRE engine?

How many jets I actually need to replace?

Where would I find the charts that would tell me which ones to get?

Where best to buy them?

...Or is £50 a good price?

Many thanks,

Jon

A 28/36 DCD carburettor sounds like a twin choke to me. If so, it will NOT fit on a standard FIRE intake manifold. In fact, the only carb that will fit is the standard Weber 32 TLF. You can fit a twin choke carb but you'd need to make an adaptor plate and might also have to improvise with throttle/ choke cables.

As for jets, maybe try and find a carburettor specialist? There must be a few still out there as £50 sound very expensive.
