I've been using the Panda a lot lately, as it's our sole transport at the moment (I'm between gas guzzlers ). It's running a treat, but doesn't seem to be shining in the fuel consumption department.. average is about 38 mpg, which doesn't strike me as brilliant for a 1 litre.

What do you lot get?

Mandapanda our 999cc FIRE (42k on the clock, so just run in LOL) covers 50miles on a fiver - although I am not too heavy with the right foot, I do drive her a bit like an italian ! She seems to do about 90-100 miles per quarter on the fuel gague.

Our best run in our Selecta was London to Coventry, via Rugby and back, in a day on £22 of juice.

seems about right! similar on all our panda's and were running a 750L with 112900 on the clock, 1000CL with 109000 in the clock, and my 1.1 Selecta with 19400 on the clock, Never managed to get better than 40 MPG out of any of them! and this is since Sept 2000 when we got the 750L.

Optimum speed for MPG in panda's is 56MPH according to the handbook.

I've got an Excel spread sheet I use to put my mileage, and fuel fill up into and it tells me MPG, and price per mile which is about 12ppm in my Selecta, going up with all the fuel prices though.

Max I've got out of the 750L is 317 miles per tank, and the selecta (bearing mind the take is 5l bigger) is 326 miles. Best MPG in the 750L was 41.95MPG in June and 40.72MPG in the selecta earlier this month (but only done 77 miles between fill ups and drove economically, best on a full tank in the Selecta is 39.23MPG back in Oct.)

With the 900 I get around 45mpg on average... sometimes down in low 40s if lots of stop starting.

I get an average of over 55mpg out of my boy racer, what are you guys doing.

thats because your engine isnt using any effort to move a Panda about, whereas us lowly 45bhp lot do!

I get about 46mpg out of Sylvia which thanks to Rob is a lot better than I used to!

How do you work your MPG out?

My Selecta is 55Bbhp!

Difference in MPG's go from one extreme to the other, what type of driving are we all doing? Mine's mainly around town.

I'm too scared to work mine out, i have a rather heavy foot

After a tankful of all urban driving I average 30mpg,
After a tankful of all motorway driving I average 50mpg,
mostly I averag 40mpg because its usually a mixture of the two.

I get 42-45 mpg from my 4x4, which i reckon is pretty good going, in mixed driving (25% towns, 25% motorway, 50% country).

Got 53 mpg on one stretch in Norway!

Yeah, Norway is great for that. Long roads with no congestion and low speed limits gives mega fuel economy.

Good job too with the price of fuel there!

yep, rarely over 50 mph and lots of flat sections, windy though. Fuel is pretty much the same as here, i.e. a rip off.... At least they get some brilliant driving roads though!

Oh yeah, sort of forgot that it's over a pound a litre here now....

I once got 55 mpg out of mine, but I was seriously tailgating HGVs up the m11 riding the slipstream...
34-35 in london traffic has been the average.
