hi,

I have managed to lose the fuel cap key and now im stuck with a panda withvery little fuel and no way to fill it up :bang: - i know fuel caps are cheap off ebay so i dont mind breaking it but i obviously dont want to end up with bit floating in the tank or an explosion!
My other thought was taking it to a dealer and seeing if they had a key but i figure that will be expensive and im not sure there is enough petrol in her to get to one!

Get a flat bladed screwdriver, whack it into the key slot (use a hammer if necessary) then twist hard. You'll break the lock but you shouldn't get any bits going anywhere and the cap should come off

That would be my advice too Gibbsy, brute force!

How's the car running now? You don't seem to have had a lot of luck with your Panda.

hahaha, yes my panda experience has not been smooth but has been rewarding.

My first panda (blue 750L) had a gear box like a colander so that went to the scrapie (after i scavenged any good bits) in march, so i got a proton to see me over but after 7 months with out a panda i wanted one again and it just happens that my friends sister has a one that is surplus to requirements that she wanted to get rid of it (because she has lost the fuel cap keys etc) so hopefully i am going to pick it up this weekend and get it back on the road!

If you've got any other Panda keys knocking about, try them first! I think there are only about half a dozen different ones.
