Could anyone list other cars that used/use this engine. I´ve notice that there is no performance mods for pandas. I´m more interested in finding a car with the same engine block but with a turbo setup.thanx for any help.

As far as i know they naver made a fire turbo but i might be wrong. its just the uno turbo is a totally different engine. but the 1L uno was a fire engine. i cant really tell you much more.

laters rich

The only one I know of is the Uno ...

Steve the geriatric Panda and Beagle freak, but can't see no problem in running a Brava in the meantime ...

yes, i have but i wanted to know for sure as some models weren´t available in some places but i can still get parts here. Unless someone knows of any exhaust manifold with a turbo flange that would fit with little/no mods. Thanx for the replies, great help

Hi there,

The only 1 litre turbo made by FIAT was the Y10 turbo - but it does not have a FIRE engine sadly. It is based on the 1049CC FIAT Palio engine.

Which would almost certainly fit in the Panda, if you could find one.

My car already had it´s engine swaped once and i´m starting to think about a custom turbo setup but the carburator freaks me out (first car i own with a carburator)

Other cars i currently own:
1993 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo conversion-512HP at the wheels
1996 Opel Calibra 2.0 Turbo 4x4-378HP at the wheels

So what if i´m a turbo freak i want to see my panda with close to 100HP if possible.

The Y10 turbo engine is a real tight squeeze and not a job for the faint hearted. It's not the same engine block and requires significant reworking of other components like the radiator to fit. Very little resembles a standard Y10 under the hood.

Also spares are getting very scarce these days.

An italian tuner did the turbo conversion on a 1108fire unit, obtaining something more than 110Hp at the wheels...I'll post his website URL if I find it;)

Do I turn fast enough!?

Thanks a lot.But i´m trying it out using a custom manifold(moded stock stuff and some finesse) and a Subaru wrx turbo in a draw-through config, local turbo geek(turbo installer at a tuning shop nearby) quoted i should get over 100hp if the head can take it depending on how many times it overheated. This setup looks simpler though but a hot turbo by the rad would be a waste but it fits.

I´m looking into changing the hubs(the ends that hold the wheels can´t recall proper name) and brake system off another car, i really fancy 4 wheel disk brakes.:DAny help would be appreciated i know it´s been done(5 bolt conversion with 4 wheel disk brakes)
