Technical How to fit a 16v Fire engine in a Panda

My 16V engine was from P reg Punto and there was no immobiliser (so I hope there shouldn't be problem to start engine:rolleyes:

Oh dear, all UK 1242 16v mk1 punto's have an immobiliser ecu as standard. If you are lucky someone has had this one modified to run without the code-box and key.

Did you try and fit that to the Panda your now fitting this engine to, or another out of interest
Yes I tried to fit rev counter to my Selecta. New engine will go to either Selecta one with manual gearbox or to other one in good condition with oryginal manual gear box.

hmm I hope you're not right...I asked owner and he said that there was no immobiliser but he could be wrong:( his key looked normal.
Do you know how to check if there is immobiliser in Punto, there is still chance to back there and get key and some device....
Is there any chance to start engine if there is no right device?
And where is it fitted and how it looks like??
Whoops
As I say, hopefully lilpip will venture over, and be able to help with things :)

Thanks fot it :)

ok all sportings and 85sx puntos had imobiliser only the very first 8v fires had no immobiliser and just a basic engine ecu at1994 n reg on they all did then the sportings were released

but it's not a majour problem wireing up the code box and taping the relevent key inside the arial is the way round it

all the code box needs is eart permenant live switched live ecu signal wire and it also sends a live out to code light witch must be earthed throu a light to make it work properly then 2 wires for arial

i have the full wiering diagrams on cd manual if i can work out witch ones they are i can send them pdf to email addresses straight from the cd

edit: ok i found 1242 16v wiring diagrams i think it covers the hole car or atleast certainly the engine code system it's 21 mb large how the hell do i send that

double edit; yep it's every thing every trim level and selecta and alsorts

Thanks for popping over lilpip (y)

no problem

that bit in the picture above is indeed the code box

if you undo 2 screws on the drivers side to reveal the interior fuse box it is above that mounted horizontally with 1 10mm bolt and cliped also easy to find it or more simply just turn the key and luck for a code light

i have g mail acount so will try sending that file now

Thank you. I'll email guy who sold me engine and see....if I'm right I also need key (are all same type or I need green/blue/red? ) I think he had green in ignition...there is no AKU now so he/I can't see code light:(
Thanks again:)

my other email is [email protected] (I'm not sure about max file size)
