How far should the handrake pull up?

I am sure i have read posts on here that say the panda handbrake is about as usefull as a chocolate fire guard.

Mine only pulls up 'three clicks' is this right or is my brake sticking / on the way out?

Any advice appriciated.

regards

nick

Panda Power!

the less it pulls up the better as long as it is locking the back wheels.if thats as far as you can pull it then it is most likely well adjusted and working fine.only problem would be if you could only pull it 3 clicks and it wasnt applying the rear brake:)

Fiat handbrakes are almost as efficient as Fiat electrical earthings !!!!!!!!!!!

The Panda handbrake is amongst the better FIAT handbrakes -
it's not troubled by little pivots which seize up.

"Haynes" quotes 4 or 5 clicks to be fully on.

Yours at 3 clicks may be adjusted up a bit tight -
assuming everything else is OK.

I can't hear more than 3 clicks, but on some ripid slopes the car tends to go down[V]...the shoes are in good conditions, maybe it needs an adjustment!

Do I turn fast enough!?

Fiat are to handbrakes what Lancia are to rust proofing !

Don't argue unless you're sure of your facts... I've had nine Panda's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well my panda had the rear pivot rust up. so i freed it off and ajusted it and now it work quite well. but my other panda has a crap hand brake i leave it in gear whenever i leave it. hehe.

The hand brake is a doddle to adjust, assuming the rear brakes are in ok condition.

Maybe one day FIAT will make cars that don't have this problem.

Fix It Again Tony!

Couldn't agree more folks.........after watching my next-door neighbour's brand new Punto slip it's handbrake, slide down the hill and cream an Audi, I reafirm my view that Fiat just can't 'do' handbrakes ( or electrics, rustproofing, reli............hang on !;' why the hell do I love the things ?!? I could be driving a reliable Ford-----------I think I've just answered my own question !).
