hey i got a 4x4 panda off my next door neighbour it was a awsome car till i checked it out properly hes put it together with anything he could find and its been nothing but trouble since. now it wont drive the front wheels it just revs so i av 2 drive it round in 4 wheel drive and the front wheels still wont drive and its making loads of noises from the front any ideas on whats wrong???:bang:

OK, so what happening with the car? When you put it in first gear in 2WD and release the clutch what happens? Is it just revving? Are there any noises aside from the engine revving? I wouldn't advise that you drive it in 4WD until the problem is rectified, you could do more damage.

Hello. I got a Panda 4X4 from my next door beighbour. It's a wonderful little car. Or so I though until I had a look at it and realised that he didn't keep it in good repair. It's been unreliable. When I try to drive it in 2WD the front wheels don't turn and it is very noisy. Does anyone know what is wrong?

If you are getting drive to the rear wheels but not the front I would suspect that the differential gears or spider have broken. If so the cheapest solution is proberbly to get a second hand gearbox. To check put into 2wd, jack up front of car, put into gear and turn one of the road wheels. If the other wheel and the engine does not turn then it's the diff If the other road wheel turns get someone to hold that wheel still, the engine should turn if all is ok. best of luck

how much did you pay for the panda? i got one a few months ago and had to spend about £400 getting it roadworthy. if i hadn't spent so much on the car in the first place i would have scrapped it. but its fantastic now. get it checked by a mechanic. all the best, john
