Panda (Classic) Mk1 Progress

Introduction

Well I have been accused of being a bit quite. The old mk1 is coming on, although still sort of ugly.

So far she has had…

1) New suspension on the front, (bushes and ball joints all over)
2) New break pipes (copper and rubber0
3) New carb
4) Nice new break master cylinder (thanks whoever let Alan have it to pass onto me)
5) A new re-trim. Door cards where there were none and some nice new seat covers. (Sarah has been busy)

Pictures say a thousand words so have a squint through these.
The maroon/red Sisley is a nice colour and will match the seats perfectly

:yeahthat:

That's a gorgeous colour (y) Isn't it the same as the the colour of Gaz Wrexham's old Panda 4x4?

Not a fan of the bronze I'm afraid. I just don't think it suits the Panda. You could always go for 'Kermit Green' if you really fancy standing out ;)

Been watching Sarah making the new covers. The quality looks excellent (y)
It has really put me in the mood to get Juppy's interior re-covered as it's the only thing letting him down now. Can't decide on grey leather or wine alcantara the same as you have in the MK1.

Now all I need is for someone to make it ;)

Stuart, If you fail to charm your way here, you could try Easifit in Newry - they're the ones who made my seat covers... :)

Hello good people, it's been a while since I have been on her.

Just dragged the MK1 up to the drive as it is time to move her on.

Would anyone be interested in this little car?

You can see most of its recent history on this thread, and since coming back from Istanbul in 2007 it has done around 200 miles.

Just before going she had the following done to her:

New front CV joints
New front ball joints
New water pump
4 x new tyres (she has done about 7.5k on them)
New front brake pads
New distributor cap and rotor arm
New Condenser

Presently shed does not have a battery but turns over freely when hooked up to my Jeep, but she has old petrol in her so will not start. If you want to play and bypass the tank then I am happy to do that but I am confident she runs ok.

The car has a fair amount of spares that went with it for the trip. These are, from what I can see in the shed:

Spare waterpump
Spare clutch
Spare set of clocks
Original air filter case
New spare mechanical fuel pump
Spare coil
Some spare HT leads
there are also two carb's in my spare parts box for her as well.

I also have the original printed Fiat factory manuals for maintenance for the vehicle.

It also has something of a history as the previous owner to us had the exhaust note recorded for use in the Playstation Game Grand Tourisimo 2.

Theses are a couple of links to the car from before it went to Istanbul and back and when it had it's shock absorbers changed when it returned.

Attached here are some fresh pictures but if you want to see something specific then let me know and I will photograph it.

Anyone interested with a sensible offer, email me at [email protected]

James my good man. Give me a call, you have the number, would be good to catch up.

Oh, and the car has now been sold. It is just waiting to be collected. And I am pretty sure it isn't headed for Mongolia. See, I kept my word.

Sorry to drag up an old post, but I was wondering if anyone might know where this old girl is? I lost track of the details of the people I sold it to and a check on the UK Gov MOT system says it never got a new MOT after 2008. So, it didn't leave the country I presume.

Anyhow, I am interested in buying it back if anyone knows where it is.

Vern has it now

Hi Rob, as Jim says I own it now. Please PM me your phone number if you want to have a chat about the Panda.
I have no plans to sell it but would like to know more about it’s history, and if I do decide to sell in the future I will at least know where to find you.
