Panda (Classic) Mk1 Progress

Introduction

Well I have been accused of being a bit quite. The old mk1 is coming on, although still sort of ugly.

So far she has had…

1) New suspension on the front, (bushes and ball joints all over)
2) New break pipes (copper and rubber0
3) New carb
4) Nice new break master cylinder (thanks whoever let Alan have it to pass onto me)
5) A new re-trim. Door cards where there were none and some nice new seat covers. (Sarah has been busy)

Pictures say a thousand words so have a squint through these.
scrapyard?
i always throw them away, because i have only 2 headlamps in my little panda.

Well Alan came through with a clip for the headlamp.

The new number plates went on and it headed for the test station yesterday.

1hr later and after all the mechanics at the garage had been and looked at it, it passed without any faults. They were all surprised at the little thing and that it hadn't had any welding nor needed any and it was "shockingly rot free". Unlike the 1998 Merc E300 with a rotten rear sub frame and the 2002 Mondeo with corroded spring seats that had both in for a test with it and had failed that day. :D

So she is now tested, insured, taxed and good to go.

The new plates are cool, £19 for the pair from ebay.

We are going to do a short promo video for it so when its done I’ll put a link up for that.

Gave the engine a brush and clean up today. Also got some magic polish and buffed up the oil filler and rad cap. Go well with the shiny air filter. :)

Bad day today though. I came to move my 7 series for the first time in over a week. It looks like some little darling has drained the tank whilst it has been stood. Now thats just not nice. Time to fix the camera and gate alarm I think.

Thats a nice panda you have there. Especially the interior the work put into that has really paid off.

Well, she had a final check over today. Kicked the tyres, poked at the oil and water, put some fuel in. Can't see anything wrong (I hope  )

Only thing that showed up was that the spare was flat so its off getting sorted for Thursday morning. Damn slow puncture.

RainX'ing the windows Thursday morning and then thats about it I think.

I thought that I would put my first post in here.

After spending around 6k miles in the MK1 I decided to buy it off Rob so Sunday the good ol girl becomes mine.
