Hey guys,

i have a palio 1.2 ELX and have recently got an OMVL LPG kit fixed. The problem is iam not able to get any power when iam on LPG mode. The car runs fine on petrol. its so scary... iam not able to make close overtakes or for that matter i had to climb up hill (small one) on the 1st gear. Please tell me whether this problem could be solvedd or should i get the LPG kit removed?

Regards

HI Kartik ,
I have the same problem with my palio 2002 elx it has a zavoli LPG kit and teh power drop is bad as hell, i have read reviews about Sequential LPG kits that cost around 30 k but in no mood for a new kit , the car is sluggish and worst on lpg ,just that i get good economy ,

some one suggested me to reset the ECU by removing the batt terminals and then reconnect them after 15 min and the rev the car high for atleast 30 sec for the ecu to get data and reset it self , it has infact work for me , but marginally ,

other than that i am researchin on sequential LP kits will update if i get across any
cheers

I too recently converted my Palio 1.6 to LPG after the 14% petrol price hike. The Engine feels much smoother and mileage is approx. 10% lower than on petrol. No problem till now......

Team ,
I got the solution to my car power slump using LPG , i learned how to increase the power to almost equal to petrol , am running my palio 1.2 on LPG gas for over 7 months now , i got a new universal EMULATOR installed for RS 1100 in hyderabad , and then got one of the busted injector replaced for RS 1250 from Lucky motor parts lower tank bund , and got the gas kit serviced for Rs 400 , but there is a down side to this , i removed my AIR box compleatly and reset my ECU , thats no good casue am sucking all bugs into my engine , leave that aside, i increased gas flow and since i have no air box its taking all the air it can and my car is mad as hell ,
bad part is that its giving me an average of 8 km/l , but power is amazing ,
am working on a free flow exhaust for my car, it should be easy , i got welding team waiting , ,,any LPG problems i will be able to guide in Hyderabad ,

cheers

Im not sure on the idea of converting to LPG, Im no good in that. I have friends who have done it, and they say on a long run the engine performance is smoother and better on Diesel or Petrol. Just my 2 cents

Interesting I wanted a LPG conversion for my business and despite problems dare I say it with my Croma was looking for another Fiat as the engines really are good. In the end though it all came down to price and I got a fantastic deal on a Partner van with the lion on the front. The thing that put me off was I read somewhere that LPG was rather bad on mileage about half what you will get from a diesel engine, plus the price is steadily creeping up thanks to our over greedy cash grabbing tax man.

Yes, FIAT engines are really good for lpg conversion process. In fact if you're a bit in to cars, you can make it easily your self with lpg conversion kit.

The problem that i have faced after 4-8 months usage on LPG and petrol is misfire due to injector clogging and spark plug failure , the car dies and one or two plugs will get faulty , i get them all replaced Rupees 600 for 4 plugs Bosch .
Injectors are crazy expensive in India for palio 1.2 , The dealers cheat you lot , RS 2200/- for one ,.otherwise it runs well on LPG ,

Oh my God!!!!!!! Beauty (100 horses) on LPG :bang:. i Dont understand this !! why on earth people play with such a nice pocket rocket. You should have bought 1.2 or Palio Diesel, instead of playing with 1.6.
I hope its not 1.6 GTX.

I got my 1.2 back on LPG and she is performing as well , i service the car myself , plugs, carb , injectors , vaccum leak checks, carb leak checks , oil change fuel fileter change , Fuel pump check , etc etc ,

learnt it the hardway, love my fiat

Hi All,
I have recently made LPG conversion of my Palio 1.2 Sport. Performance wise its good lik the engine is much more silent & pickup is also great...but I am facing a problem i.e. my Air Filter casing has bursted twice & i had to replace it...this is the only problem that I am facing with my LPG conversion....Plz help me with my prob .....

How has it burst
Well if I suddenly slowdown for some reason i.e from 70 Km/hr to 30 km/hr & i don't shift my gear to 2nd or 1st then there will be a boom sound & when I check for the boom sound, I find the thing responsible for the boom is the Air Filter which would have cracked from the clap area basically from the lower side & the upper portion the Filter would b partially opened....I have also noticed 1 thing i.e when my Air Filter is bursted, the engine pickup decreases comparatively....Need some solution soon....

Sounds like a dodgy install to me. Is it a sequential injection system
Ya may be but not sure....And about sequential injection system, I think its a
Single-Point, Closed-loop Induction System, Petrol-injected System....D this type of system have any problem....

Hi Guys,

Finally got rid of my bursting air filter problem....at first i doubted about the ECU malfunctioning. So, I replaced with a Palio 1.6 16v's ECU but wit that I had the same issue but i got a better performance in pickup & my RPM went down to about 8x in neutral position whereas with my 1.2 8v ecu the RPM meter shows 10x. But for me thats not an issue...Since my issue was not solved so I went on thinking wat might be the problem & came to the conclusion that perhaps the mill wants more air with LPG for combustion compare to petrol. So, as a result the trottle is sucking more air which in turn squeezes the air filter and it bursts...So, I just replaced the paper filter with a cotton cloth bcoz the cloth allows more air compared to paper & in return my car is now perfectly fine rather i wud say its a JET now....no more brusting & am enjoying car to the last extent...I love my car :)

hi, my name is Ibrahim and I'm from Indonesia, I have buy Lovato easy fast conversion kit, and I have some problem about it. after I already installed all the conversion kit to my vehicle(Chevrolet SPIN LTZ 1.5 AT) and I already make sure follow the manual instruction, also i already did autocalibration many times before, and its successes but one day during run autocalibration the engine suddenly off, after that, i try to repeat autocalibration but always failed, the software said "start the engine and try again" in fact the engine already start. , therefore I'm going back again the process from the beginning
at first, I switch on the ignition switch, and I look the switch button there are orange LED on(which is correct because that's mean I using the gasoline fuel), after that, I turn on the engine and look again the switch button the orange LED still on, but after about 15 seconds the switch button suddenly don't have any LED on, can anybody give me the solution?or can tell me what's the source of the problem?

ok, so you've fitted a kit to a Chevy and it's worked,
but now you want to fit it to a FIAT,

I suspect you'll need a Marelli ECU to drive it..,

Charlie

sorry if I make you confused, I do not realize this thread is for fiat, what I want to tell you this case is for Chevrolet spin LTZ AT 1.5 and what just now I explain to the forum is the same vehicle
