I'm just in the process of sprucing up my mk1 punto. Can't be bothered forking out for some alloys so just fitting some nice trims instead.

Looking at the trims, looks like I have to remove the whole wheel to release the trim is this right?

Also, the wheels underneath look a little rusted, which will be a problem as the new trim will reveal a little more of the rim. I intend to spray over this, but whats the best way of smoothing out the rust??

Cheers.

well yes i think you do if its the kind were there held on by the bolts,

remove each wheel, wet and dry it, then put on some kind of primer for rust, theres alot available, read the cans and see what seems most suitable, then spray them black, could do black hammerite :) matt would be best :)
