Hi guys hope you well.

About a week ago i got my 2003 Fiat Palio 1.2 8 valve serviced.. It was just a regular service so they changed the oil, filters, spark plugs and put a new timing belt on. The car was running perfectly before the service however when i received it, it struggles to start in the morning (Maybe on the 3rd turnover it gets going) and sometimes at a stop street for example when i depress the clutch it just cuts off! ( I have noticed though it tends to cut off more often when the lights are on)

So basically took the car in for just a regular service and its come back worse!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening just after a service? Maybe the parts he put on are faulty e.g sparks plugs or the timing is incorrect?

Any help would be great guys!

Mmmmm...
-how is the idle? Is it normal and the engine dies all of a sudden, or is the engine shaky at idle?
-When driving, is the power normal?

If the valve timing is off you'd notice a significant power loss, plus your mechanic would need to be very incompetent to get that wrong, it is dead easy.

My guess at this point is that your throttle is almost closed for some reason or one of the hoses into the pressure sensor manifold is disconnected. Not too sure how that sensor thingy is called, but you'll see a piece of plastic near the intake manifold where a couple of small hoses connect.

Hi there Nes, thanks for the reply.

Ya it is abit shaky whilst idling and i did notice a bit of drop in power.. Do you think it could be the timing then?

Its back at the mechanic now should get it tomorrow, lets see what he says!
