So some history, my wife owns a Fiat Palio 1.6 16 valve. I snapped the timing belt and bent all the valve guides. I sent the head in got it fixed up, pressure tested and all is good.
We rented the timing tools and went to work. We have set the timing before when we blew a cylinder head gasket but now the car won't start. We checked the timing three times already. It swings like it wants to start but no go. We tried using quick start and still nothing.
We did break the crankshaft sensor bracket when fixing the car. We bought a second hand one and set it to 0.6 away from the teeth. Would this stop the car from starting ? What is the correct distance?
I feel the problem could be electrical. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Where can I get someone with a diagnostic computer to check? I live in Durban, South Africa.
Regards, Byron
