my siena is not running properly the engine keep cutting out and missfiring, taken spark plug out and they are black black, taken the carburetor out and is full of oil and full of carbon, could that be the problem? also what can I use to clean it with out damaging the sensors? thanks

powerenhancer UK petrol fuel treatments archoilar6440 is on sale just now it won't let me post direct link probably just needs a new lambda sensor as this will cause the symptoms you describe. Isn't the siena a fuel injection engine? Bad valve seals would cause oil to be in the throttle body but it may just be the carbon not allowing the valves to open / close properly. Scrub it with one of the fuel additives & change the lambda first, if it doesn't work it's pretty major surgery to inspect the valves / seals & I hope you love your car as it will be expensive unless you diy it

thanks, i'll start by cleaning the carburetor it hasn't been cleaned in years and that could explain the accumulation of oil on the sensors also i noticed a bent pin on the sensor connector

how is your comment helping the guy Pete? he probably means the throttle body. We don't all know our way around an engine bay if he wants to give it a clean I can't see the harm. Ps I love biltong Max & good luck you can get lamdas fairly cheap & give the air mass sensor a good clean while you're at it.

I didn't see where he was before I replied to him however archoilar / wynns etc fuel treatments are available world wide go have a smoke & a pancake (Goldmember)Pete and chill out, I thought the idea of these forums were to try and help each other out not to just nit pick LoL. Please keep posts productive & helpful if someone is asking for help.

thank you everybody for the input yes I am new in this forum so i am learning the rules, and correct there is no carburetor but i was referring to the throttle body (thank you) so yes the throttle body was full gunk I guess from the engine main body intake in the air system, both sensors in the air intake where covered, I am working on spanish diagrams and i can translate about 50% google translate help with 25% the rest is random translation, the fiat siena is a spanish design, italy have no clue what a fiat siena is, but they know the palio, one step forward, now the siena that I have was built in south africa and the spanish version and south african version are not the same so as I started to dismantle the fuel system i discover this (see photo) can any one that have a fiat siena el 16v 2001 can tell me where that pipe connect to?
please?

can you take the plastic cover off to get a better look at what kind of reservoir it's attached to? it looks like somebody has tried to bypass something with the butchers marks on the pipe. If it worked ok before its possibly nothing to drastically important. It would be better if it was working though.
