Hi Dear Readers,

When I corner left or right as when entering a U-turn, I hear knocking sound which goes away when I return the car back into the straight path, I was postponing the repair until today while I was returning home, I entered a U-turn (turned left) and then I heard weird sounds as if something was broken, I couldn't move the car forward or reverse, and when I put the car into a forward gear or in reverse the car won't move forward or backward and I can hear terrible unusual sounds from the front of the car when I press the gas pedal, the car engine is well and I can operate it and turn it off always as normal, and I can press the clutch pedal and shift to all my 5-speed forward gears and into the reverse gear too but the car wont move in any direction(fwd or reverse), I can still turn the steering wheel left and right. I also found small silver metal balls under the car what is these balls ?

What happened to my car, I need your help guys please reply If you know about this problem.

thanks alot
my regards,

umm ... knocking or 'banging' sound is usually associated with a wheel bearing or drive shaft.

If your car has lost its drive, that suggest a drive shaft/universal joint failure. It may be the driveshaft/hub at fault.

If you're not sure - get somebody to check the car.

Incase it was just the CV Joints, should I replace the whole driveshaft or just the outer CV Joints alone

Hi,
A CV joint, probably outer, has failed ses image for where the balls came from

You need to find why it failed or the new one will goa the same way. Most Likely cause is a failed gearbox or engine mounting. This will allow the engine and gearbox to move enough to pull the joint out. Could also be a suspension failure but you would be getting steering / handling issues if that was the case.

yeah dear Robert, I think you are right, I had a terrible accident in 2010 which caused alot of damages to the engine block and the suspension, I think it's a suspension issue which caused them to fail because I replaced the CV Joints 2-3 years ago

I realized that it was one of the CV Joints when I first saw those metal balls beneath the car, but I was waiting for confirmation, thanks again for the picture this shows that the CV joint was broken for sure, I now need to check the whole driveshaft/axle

thanks alot guys for your support
