Hi Dear Fiat Forum Members,

I had a problem which was neglected for a while now, I never learned that it was an important issue that needs to be put into my consideration until I knew that this problem may affect the rest of the car's steering system

The steering wheel is so heavy especially when the car is stationary, it gets better in response when I'm actually driving on the road, I have checked the Power Steering Fluid in the can/container and there was no losses, Is the Power Steering Pump responsible for this, back in time when the problem began, I remember hearing strange unusual sound when I turn the steering wheel right and left, now the sound disappeared, I can turn the wheel without hearing anything, the wheel is just heavy, I suspect the pump, What do you think guys ?

thanks in advance
my regards,

I was wrong there is a sound when I turn the wheel from side to side, it's not as loud as the past but there is a sound, I guarantee.

the belt is good, I checked on all the belts, nothing wrong is visible to me

thanks Peter, I might get a cheaper used one from imported scrap car parts, but I'm afraid they might die too soon than a new one, Do cheap pumps offer good lifetime operation ? Is there any other more expensive pump manufacturers ?

Find the part number for your pump on ePER on top of this page first.

Maybe this genuine Fiat pump will fit:
